This condensed climb follows the Naro Moru route, Mount Kenya’s fastest and most direct trail to Point Lenana (4,985m). While shorter, it involves steeper sections such as the “Vertical Bog,” demanding good fitness and determination. Recommended for experienced trekkers or those short on time.

Itinerary
Depart Nairobi and drive to Naro Moru Gate (2,600m). Begin trekking through montane forest alive with Colobus monkeys and birdlife. The hike takes 3–4 hours to Met Station.
Overnight: Met Station
Ascend through the infamous Vertical Bog, then cross alpine meadows towards Teleki Valley. Stunning views of the main peaks appear as you approach Mackinder’s Camp.
Overnight: Mackinder’s Camp
Pre-dawn attempt of Point Lenana. Arrive at sunrise for panoramic views across Africa’s second-highest mountain. Descend via Mackinder’s to Met Station.
Overnight: Met Station
Descend through montane forest to Naro Moru Gate. Transfer by road back to Nairobi, arriving late afternoon.
