Mweri Expeditions – Terms & Conditions
We encourage all clients to carefully read and understand the following Terms & Conditions before confirming any safari with Mweri Expeditions. These terms form the basis of your agreement with us. Once a deposit or full payment is made, you are deemed to have accepted and agreed to abide by them.
1. Booking & Payment Policy
1.1 Booking Confirmation
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm all bookings. The balance must be settled no later than 45 days prior to your safari start date.
If booking is made within 45 days of travel, full payment is required at the time of booking.
1.2 Late Payments
Failure to pay the balance on time may result in cancellation of your booking, with applicable cancellation fees as outlined below.
2. Cancellation Policy
2.1 Client Cancellations
All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. The following cancellation fees apply based on notice period before the safari:
- More than 60 days before departure: 50% refund of the total tour cost (if fully paid).
- 15–30 days before departure: 25% refund of the total cost.
- 14 days or less: No refund.
In select special cases, a credit note may be issued for cancellations within 45 days of travel.
2.2 No-Shows & Early Departures
No refunds will be provided for no-shows, missed services, or early departures after the safari has commenced.
2.3 Cancellations by Mweri Expeditions
In the unlikely event that we must cancel a safari (e.g., due to safety concerns, political instability, or force majeure), we will offer either a full refund or credit towards a future trip—whichever you prefer.
3. Changes & Amendments
Itinerary changes after booking may be possible but may incur additional charges, depending on supplier terms and availability. Last-minute changes are not guaranteed.
4. Health & Medical Requirements
4.1 Health Declaration
Travelers must be in suitable health to participate in a safari. Please inform us of pre-existing medical conditions, allergies, or mobility concerns at the time of booking.
4.2 Vaccinations & Insurance
It is your responsibility to arrange necessary vaccinations and comprehensive travel insurance, including emergency evacuation. Proof of coverage may be required before departure.
4.3 Fitness for Travel
We reserve the right to decline a booking or remove a participant if their health or behavior puts themselves or others at risk. In such cases, no refunds will be issued.
5. Travel Documents
It is your responsibility to ensure you have a valid passport, applicable visas, and other required travel documents. Mweri Expeditions cannot be held liable for missed safaris due to documentation issues. Travelers to Kenya must obtain an eVisa online before arrival.
6. Liability & Assumption of Risk
6.1 Limitation of Liability
Mweri Expeditions is not liable for:
- Personal injury, illness, or death
- Loss or damage to personal property
- Delays or changes caused by weather, wildlife, government actions, acts of God, or third parties
6.2 Acknowledgment of Risk
By booking a safari, you acknowledge that travel in remote areas, exposure to wildlife, and unpredictable weather conditions involve inherent risks. You accept full responsibility for such risks.
7. Third-Party Services
Mweri Expeditions partners with trusted third-party providers (e.g., lodges, airlines, transfer companies). While we vet these partners carefully, we are not responsible for their acts or omissions. You agree to abide by their terms, and you participate in their activities at your own risk.
We will, however, make every reasonable effort to assist in resolving any issues that arise during your safari experience.
8. Photography & Marketing
We may capture photos or videos of your safari for promotional use. If you prefer not to appear in any marketing content, please inform us before your safari begins.
9. Disputes & Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Kenya. Any disputes arising under this agreement will be subject to the jurisdiction of Kenyan courts.
