It offers a steady ascent with great acclimatization opportunities, diverse vegetation zones, and scenic views of the high moorlands. This 5-day option strikes a balance between shorter climbs and extended treks, giving trekkers an excellent chance of reaching Point Lenana successfully.

Itinerary
Morning transfer from Nairobi to Nanyuki, then continue to Sirimon Gate. Trek through montane forest and bamboo to reach Old Moses Camp.
Overnight: Old Moses Camp
Hike across the moorland and cross the Ontulili and Liki North valleys before ascending the Mackinder Valley, with dramatic views of the main peaks.
Overnight: Shipton’s Camp
Spend a day acclimatizing with short hikes in the surrounding ridges and valleys. This rest day boosts summit success chances.
Overnight: Shipton’s Camp
Start pre-dawn for the final push to Point Lenana, the trekking summit of Mount Kenya. Witness a stunning sunrise over the peaks. Descend through Mackinder Valley back to Old Moses Camp.
Overnight: Old Moses Camp
Descend through the forest zone to Sirimon Gate. Drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon.
